Mother of Buffalo is a documentary film following one woman’s struggle to protect an endangered herd of wild water buffalo on Hong Kong’s Lantau Island. It’s a story of perseverance, the connection and conflict between humans and nature, and a rarely-seen side of Hong Kong amidst transformative change.
This project has been filming since August 2020 and will conclude filming in March 2026. A work-in-progress film has been screened at private events in Hong Kong and Dallas. A feature-length film is planned for Summer 2026 release.
